Two Tips to Follow if You’ve Chosen Glass as Your Pool Fencing Material

Here are two tips to follow if you've selected glass as the material for your pool fence.
Find out if the glass your fence contractor will be using is coated with a water and oil repellent
If your contractor will be sourcing the glass pool fencing materials for you, you should ask them if the glass they're planning to order for you will have a coating that is water and oil-repellent. This coating can help to cut down on how often a glass fence must be cleaned. Water drops from the pool, as well as the smudges caused by people touching the panels and transferring their skin's natural oils, and the oily sunscreen lotions they may be wearing, will not stick to them. If your pool fence had this coating, you would still need to wipe off these smudges or droplets, but this task would be very easy, as the drops of water and oil would not create hard-to-remove streaky stains or water spots.
This coating doesn't always come as standard with glass pool fencing and so it's worth asking this question. If the contractor says that the glass that they're planning to use doesn't have this coating and you'd like your pool fence to have this characteristic, you can either request that they order another type of glass with this repellent coating or you can order this repellent treatment separately and have the contractor apply it to the fence's glass panels before they fit them.
Consider whether you want the fence to have a frame
You'll also have to decide whether you want your fence contractor to add a frame to the glass pool fence panels. A frameless glass fence might be the appropriate choice if you want the fence to be an understated feature, that won't be the first thing people notice when they see your property's pool area. A frameless fence can also be a good choice if you want it to be uncomfortable to climb so you can deter uninvited pool users, as the top of a frameless fence has sharp edges, which would be somewhat painful for a person to grip with their hands whilst pulling themselves over it.
A framed glass pool fence also has its advantages, however. If for example, your property's pool area is plain-looking, with pattern-free, neutral-coloured tiles and no notable design elements, then adding a frame to the glass fence will make this transparent structure more visible and thus make this pool area a bit more visually interesting.
